| Asa, Gear to Go Outfitter's most veteran employee, has pursued outdoor adventure since his youth. Most recently, Asa travelled through South America for three months. On the trip he spent three days hiking Colca Canyon, the deepest in the world. Then, only two weeks later, Asa completed a self-designed trek to Machu Picchu. Assembling an international crew from a hostel in Cusco and reaching out to the South American Explorers Club for topography maps, Asa approached Peru's most storied ruin on a rarely used mule trail that links Quechua speaking villages. A memorable moment was when his team bartered chocolate for firewood. Besides roaming the world's mountains and trails, Asa is an accomplished writer. His first book will be published in October, and plays and movies of his have been produced around the country. Asa is proud to be part of New York City's first and only full service outfitter. |
