| Asa Merritt first started hiking in the mountains near Portland, Oregon where he was born. While at Columbia University, Asa guided three-night trips for incoming freshmen, many of whom where camping for the first time in their life. "Troweling" seminars were his speciality. He also taught leave no trace principles by setting good examples. For example, Asa was the one who always drank the left over bean juice when making fajitas. Asa has been working for Gear to Go Outfitters since its inception, and is excited to be part of one of the best outlets for outdoor enthusiasts in the tri-state area. |
